Background
Griffin was a graduate student, assigned through his affiliation to the Army to the Whitefriars Experimental Facility as an intern. Synergy, who had Griffin in her files as a latent, contacted him and activated him without his consent. She then proceeded to tell him exactly what kind of research was going on at Whitefriars, making Meadows death the price of allowing him to take refuge with the Resistance. Realising he had little choice in the matter Griffin made the attempt. Predictably, given that he had little control over his powers and no real idea of what his abilities were, this failed and he was captured by the Sentinels. He is currently being held as a potential experimental subject and, in a fit of guilt, Synergy has made his rescue part of the team's mission, though the priority still remains to 'neutralise' Meadows.
